pete's here and is officially a resident of seoul!
can't tell you how excited we are to have him here.
oh the times we're about to have.
arrow, get ready for some crazy fun time with your uncle pete!

first full day here and pete was already climbing up bukhansan. it was a gorgeous day. we needed to celebrate pete's arrival with a hike and a picnic.

arrow was crawling around and shoveling anything that was in his way into his mouth. it was like inviting godzilla to the picnic.

the korea university basketball team was getting ready to hike and got distracted by arrow. and of course, the party was broken up by a halmoni who wanted in on the action.

the basketball team gave arrow an energy bar. it cracks me up when people give him something he clearly can't eat. once when he was 2 months, this taco restaurant made him a miniature quesadilla. oh well. more food for me.

hiking works up an appetite.

the colder weather brings out the trucks selling roasted corn, steamed sweet potatoes, and envelopes of warm, roasted chestnuts. i really love this country.

lunch with saewon and haejung. delicious cheesy pizza staying warm by candlelight.

we took a one-hour embroidery class where we learned how to embroider flowers. 

the embroidery museum was beautiful. there were wall hangings, quilts and clothes with the most intricate details.

someday i'd love to take their two-month course where you learn nine different embroidery techniques.

our neighbor friends were having their weekly "lunches of leisure." arrow was in a deep sleep, so i couldn't make it downstairs on time. but they brought up a plate for me. couscous with curry, persimmons and apples. yum.
