went to our old neighborhood and ate at dos tacos! the manager, yoojae, and staff were surprised to see us. they still had us up on the picture board. yoojae kept making sure i was eating enough and saying "me uncle" as he rubbed my belly.

my classroom clock is all about "wolrd" peace.
cookie's peace corps: "our wish is to preserve peace! peace is the healing & elevating influence of the world!"

all of this coming from a gingerbread cookie. i want this clock.

my first-level students: diana, sunny, candy and jon-john.

today, we found old magnetic letters. they were excited to use the chalkboard and make words & phrases from our lessons. candy made up "six big men" on her own. i was impressed.

strawberries!

i've been eating a crazy amount of cyool (korean clementines) and apples, the most affordable fruits here. strawberries are usually close to 9,000 won (expensive). but today, an ajussi was selling them for 3,000 won! they taste as good as the ones gramma liz gets from baraboo.

imcheon como was hooking us up with homemade kimchi, while we watched korean dramas on her phone.

my best explanation: a giant, twisted corn pop-cane that hurts the roof of your mouth in one bite.

...and can be used for promoting peace or for self-defense.

como's family took us to chinatown in incheon. we ate big bowls of jajang myun (noodles in black bean sauce. oh yea!).

i came home from work to find a package waiting for us at our door. it took everything out of me to not open it before zachary got home, especially after reading the detailed description of its contents.

not sure how quickly we consumed the homemade cookies. all i know is that the box was pretty much empty before the night was over. also, it was the first time during this pregnancy that i used the excuse "i'm technically eating for two" and meant it.

thanks mom....for sending us first class cookies.

it's 2011 and we're living in seoul again! we're happy to be back. the winter's been cold, but i thank korea for their heated floors.

our friend, flan, got us a christmas tree (along with many many other gifts since we've arrived!). it was our first christmas tree together, decorated with necklaces and trinkets from home. this year's gifts were oranges, carmelized biscuits and a baby on the way!
